Rick was the first born into a musical tradition. His mother Olivette was renowned organist of St. Louis Parish in Fall River, MA. His father who served in WWII at the invasion of Okinawa sang in the choir in the Navy as well as the Southcoast Opera Club and Allegro Glee Club of Fall River. As a youngin, Rick studied classical piano. At the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Rick joined the Frédéric Chopin club. In his later years, Rick would travel the world, exploring all types of music. In his final years, he was a regular blues and tribal singer at local backyard events.
